I was surprised by the amount of smoke going down the track. Was that actually vehicle exhaust, or just dust being kicked up off the road?
In a way it was better for the cinematography since it really helped reinforce the perception of speed as the cars flew by.... Sort of like those vortexes of water vapor that you see on fighter jets in flight.

I agree, the effect was killer. There's one shot with the black Z-06 (and the Ford GT, as well) where you can really see the eddy of air behind the car going to work. Not sure if you caught it, but there's also a shot of the green Ultima GT-R (arguably producing more downforce than any car there) and it shot a rooster tail of dust up into the air as it rocketed down the runway.
Sand-blasting wasn't an issue, I ran the whole day w/o taping the headlights and didn't notice any new pitting. So the dust was very fine.

Excellent pictures guys. BIP had a diverse group of cars/SUV's surprising many people. I can guarantee the G55 raised many eyebrows as it pulled away from other "super" cars!

the official speed list is out! i was 33 fastest out of 120 cars. cant wait until spring!!

I so wish I'd been there instead of watching my team get it's *** handed to them (UVA vs. Ga Tech that day - friends in town). Very glad to see you had the wagon out there!

I had fun, turning a best mph of 137-138.
I beat the following:
Stock 96 Viper GTS
Stock E60 M5
Stock W211 E63 Wagon
Fully Modded CTSV Sedan
New modded M3 Sedan
and got beat by
Chawkins E55 rocket
new ESS SCed M3 with a bunch of goodies
Awesome day with a bunch of die hard car guys, can't wait for the next round
