I was cutting 1.85 60 ft times on my Hankook V12's. Pretty good for a street tire

Quote: I am running a new pair of the V12 rears 285/30/19 (Toyo T1rs in my sig) because my friend threw them on for less than 500 installed. I echo the comments above, Toyo T1r's IMO are night and day better in every aspect including looks and have a nice aggressive rounded track which also seamlessly tucks into the wheel wells of lowered rides. V12's have a square type track and just never feel planted or stable to me which is my biggest gripe but is a decent tire for the price point, T1r's are about the same price though. I will try PSS next or try to find my t T1r's on the net somewhere because they are discontinued but it looks like the Toyo Proxes 1 are the closest replacement. Keep in mind I am in Southern Cal and drive in hot, dry weather year around
Vader, I know this is OT but were you chasing an Aston Martin of some sort down PCH at around 10 pm a day or two ago? I was parked in my beast at Taco Bell next to Phillips Auto when you rolled by, if it in fact was you. Car looked Kuhleen bruh!!!

If it wasnt you then possibly another murdered out E in OC.

I'm on my third set already and they are fantastic for the price. I DD my car too and it handles just fine. I will admit that I do have a different set of tires that I use for the track so it may be different but I still drive hard at times and they tires hold up just fine.

I have a set on my E55 on 18's and have no complaints...still at about 80% life. Ride is very quiet and wet handling feels like dry...but then I try to stay below 85 in the rain.

I currently have a set installed. They are good tires for the money but I will not be going with another set. As they accumulate miles the level of grip provided by the tires decreases. These tires are just not worth the trade offs.

The Hankook's are good tires for the money, but side-walls are soft, grip in the wet is lacking.
I went to PSS and there is no comparison, the PSS have amazing grip and ride qualities. The PSS's are about $450 more, but worth the extra money. I would only go back to Hankook if I was selling the car soon.

Because you were hoping someone would chime in with some negative information out of all of the positive posted here?

Were you again hoping for perfection?

Well... If you read my original post, you'll see that I said I am getting vastly differing opinions regarding these tires and wanted to hear from actual owners who use them daily. I believe you were the first to chime in asking if I had read reviews and that how they were "all overwhelming positive".

As it turns out it's not all roses now is it?? Hence the post and the attempt to get factual info. After all that's what a public forum is all about.

Lastly, Not sure what you mean by hoping for perfection "again"? Can't see where I was asking for perfection to begin with?? Just wanted opinions about a tire

NO, fact is these tires receive raves from a majority of users and reviews PERIOD!

There is NO perfect tire, there is not perfect GOD! No perfect car. etc etc etc

There will ALWAYS be exceptions in everything! You just seem to home in on the negatives which are far outweighed by the the positives.

How about you just buy the tires, put them on, and GIVE US YOUR IMPRESSIONS!

And if come across as a bit of a ***** it's because it seems these threads come of entirely too often where people come here asking about TIRES!

SEARCH!!!There are plenty of threads on tires, many recent also. Make them a sticky MOD! The best source is not here, it is over on TireRack. Without even looking I bet these tires rank up there pretty high.

EDIT: Here you go. 714 reviews there.

You have to read what people are saying about the tires and how long they have had them.

You also have to look at what people are driving and what kind of tires they have run in the past to weight their review.

The first thousand or two miles I was much more positive than I am now. After xxxx miles the reduction in grip is noticeable. Also given how hard the tire is and the lack of grip I would have expected a longer life than I am seeing. It is not a bad tire for the money but it is no Advan AD07, AD08, PSS, etc. If you are trying to save money and willing to accept the compromises I would put this tire on my list to consider but it is far from the end all, be all in tires.

I'm on my fourth set of Hankooks on the rear and the second on the front and really like these tires.

I've used the Michelin's, Conti's and the Hankooks. The Michelin's are the best but not worth the extra money and rapid tire wear. The Conti's are OK but not any better than the Hankooks but cost much more. The only downside to the Hankooks for me is that dry traction really goes away below 40 degrees. Fortunately, I live in Florida and that don't happen often.

my v12s wore down super quick and were pretty rough ride in comparision to the michelin PSS i have now... i already have the same mileage on the PSS that i had on the v12's when they were done while the pss still have at least 50% tread left

pay twice as much for the the PSS and get a tire that last 2x longer and rides better

Quick update here - have had the V12's on for about a 1000 miles and love them. road noise is good. grip is fine and the rain traction is 100% better than the Bridgestone Potenza's that were on the car before. Overall a happy camper thank you all for the feedback and advice.

I live in Seattle and have these on my 911 for over a year now. Throw stones if you want but for this area on a DD I am not sure you can beat them. I am seriously thinking of putting them on my new E63.

When I bought the car, it had PS2's on the OEM wheels.. When it was time to replace them, I chose to go with the Nitto Invo's.

I went through 2 pairs of Invo's in a relatively short time.. I was able to attain roughly 10-12k on the Invo's, which is normal for this car.

Anyways, though I loved the Invo's in every regard (price, comfort, noise, wet traction) I just didn't want to spend that much money for a set of tires that I was replacing almost yearly.

I gave the v12's a chance after much research and deliberation. I installed them all around on the OEM wheels. Performance was great, noise was good, though I personally feel the Invo's performed better in foul weather. I put roughly 6k on the v12's before changing the wheels out.

I recently put on a set of Forgestar f14 19's with the v12 tires. So far, similar experience.. I'm happy with the tire and I feel for the price you pay, it's a great value. At the price point that I was able to get these tires for, it's quite affordable having to replace them every year or so..
