New OEM Rim Needed

What's up guys! It's been a while but I'm still loving my E55. I was on the 91 the other day running on Bridgestone Potenzas when the right rear tire literally shredded at the sidewall and left me riding on the rim. Well, I finally got the new tire on and low and behold I have a slow leak due to a crack on the edge of the rim. Anybody have any good thoughts on buying a used rim?

Thanks!

People buy used wheels all the time. If i recall, someone was recently selling a used OEM set for fairly cheap cause one or two had been repaired or were already cracked, or something along those lines. Buy the set, use one good one, and keep the other for a spare? There's some pretty low priced sets of wheels out there right now too if you went that route. Good luck.

Good news. They can repair the crack on the inner lip of the rim. The charge is $150 to re-shape the wheel and fix the crack. Seems reasonable to me.

Also, I was quoted $150/wheel to strip the existing factory paint and powder coat the wheel to the color of my choice. Does anybody have any thoughts on that price?

If it is a good repair and not able to be seen then it sounds reasonable to me. The powder coating price also seems to be within reason, although a little higher than what i usually pay. Is that with a clear coat too?
