People with stock exhaust make more torque down low than with opened up exhaust so very possible.

My TORQUE app showed about 26 PSI max boost on the highway today, minus the 14.5 gives 11.5 max boost. I wouldn't count on it being accurate as the dial I used lack a digital display, just a needle and points.

The ECU reset helped today, the power is there, or more like the "horsepower" is there but the off idle torque is not. I was able to brake the tires loose @ 40 MPH even with the drag radials (ESP off). The car "felt" faster before, similar to how the e55 feels faster than the E63 but they are the same in the 1/4.

Can't wait to get dyno numbers and head back to the track.

My car down low lost some grunt when I opened up the exhaust but it was faster no doubt.

Just an update, thanks to RBJ for organizing a dyno day, I was able to get dyno tuned by Eurocharged. The new downpipes and new tune brought the car to life. Final dyno run after 2 retunes was 478hp/511tq. Previously it was 449hp/476tq.The car feels amazingly better, pulls smooth through all gears and much stronger than before, the low end power is back as well. The old tune was on the lean side, not rich as I had suspected. The original dyno test showed the A/F was good, I suspect the new downpipes made the tune lean. Can't wait to get back to the track again. These were the numbers I was originally expecting based on my mods. Although I used 2 different dynos before/after, they were both Dynojets, and my butt dyno tells me the increase in power is real, and huge. And not bad for a car that just turned 100K miles!!

What did the car dyno on this dyno before Jerry adjusted the tune? I assume you had to do a pull for Jerry to look at to then adjust things from. So what improvement was made from your first pull yesterday to your last pull? And was the car cool on the first pull?

I don't have the printouts from the first pull, the very first 2 pulls were botched I had no supercharger engagement...my fault but we fixed it, and I believe the first good pull was around 459-46x hp, torque was around 47x I believe. I will call Rage-Tek Monday and see if they can pull up the first pull, not sure if they saved it.

The car had been cooling for several hours, but the first 2 botched runs heated it up.

How did the supercharger not engage? How was that your fault?

Was the car just ran again right after adjustments were made or did the car get cooled down? Just curious if the hp increase was from an actual improvement or just from cooler car. Time to head back to the track

Today is "Funday Sunday" at Orlando Speedworld drag strip. Opened at 10am and $15 to run! Get some! haha Open again this Friday. How far are you from that, must be close right?

This place is a joke.
I had removed the IC pump relay and had a jumper wire to run the pump with the key out of the car while it was parked. I thought it would be good to leave it that way on the dyno so it could cool when the engine was shut down between runs. Of course, you can't fool the Germans...the computer saw the IC relay missing and shut down the supercharger. After putting the relay back, cycling the key, it was fine.

The car cooled a little on the dyno between adjustments, they had a pretty strong fan there. It gets pretty hectic when other people are waiting, the supercharger is off, the new software is not coming through email as fast as it should, everyone's asking questions and I'm stressing out about the numbers hahah...I can say, without a doubt as soon as I drove off the dyno and down the street the difference was huge, it was like the difference between 80F weather and 60F weather on the butt dyno. Actually I got a headache right after from the G-force and the blood rushing in my head lol.

Orlando Speed World is about 30 miles away, not bad. Can't make it today but I can try for Friday. Sadly, it looks like they are closing at the end of 2012, unless someone else takes over the operation.

Yeah, I was hoping to go to Gainesville when I get back home in 2 weeks for Christmas but they are closed from what I see and have no schedule for next year so not sure how early they open and I will probably be gone again since I leave a few days after New Years which sucks.

your car sounded pretty cool, deep enough to entice a Zo6 or two. It moved decent when you hammered it. The color is cool also and what a hell of a deal. Now you just have to get to the track and have some fun. We are going to be at PBIR this weekend, run all day for $75.00. If you can come on down and let her loose.

Of course the times got worse as the track got wet, but MPH was pretty much the same, 116.22 116.63 116.19

Never had the ability to cool the engine much, logged my IATs on last run and were starting at around 90+ and hit 160 @ 120mph.

Outside temp per cluster was 66F but wet mist and fog.

I haven't had time yet to split the intercooler system and install my rear tank.

For reference, a stock CLS63 TT with the performance package ran 12.1 @ 119 in front of me on my last run. I also dropped the AMG hammer on a 2011 GT500, he ran 13.02@114.13. I ran 12.01@116.22. For reference, that GT500 traps 117mph per Car+Driver.

Take the car back to the original dyno, and let's see what you really gained. Trap is the same and you know what that means.

The car was a bit doggy on the way home. The humidity was crazy. I think it was a major factor last night.

I will try to get back on the original dyno at some point but its very difficult to schedule with them.

Just ran an 11.97 @ 119.3mph, no traction 1.95 60ft. If I can hook it will be a glorious night! Tried 3 different launch techniques too. Hoping to do the limited slip and 82mm later this year.

Thanks guys! Still no traction, but having fun. Haven't lost a race yet! The only Merc out here, people love how quiet and sleepy it is.

I had a lot of fun last night, the track wasn't too busy so I got in 8 passes.

There never was good traction, even the 9 second cars were running 11's

Tried many different launch techniques, ESP on/off, always in raised mode, holding RPM from 1000 to 1800, easy on the gas, slamming the gas, Jphn Force stlye burnouts, didn't matter much.

The car is amazingly consistent though. Check the timeslips for 11.973,11.974,11.974 each one hour apart!!

My goal is a consistent 11-second car. I think the 82mm and LSD will help a lot.

I split the cooling system Friday before I headed to the track, no resevoir as I ran out of time, just used a length of hose to fill and bleed. I will be adding a second small heat exchanger and small holding tank later on.

Still impressive times for a heavy 4 door with 2.65 gears.

Have all the parts just need the time. But you are right, this was more of a "real street" dyno than some of the numbers I have been looking at from other cars, where they are cooled down, ideal conditions, etc. I don't think I'll do the chiller since these cars don't have the greatest A/C systems, and in the middle of summer here, on max cool and recirc it just barely does the job in town.
Might want to look into a under hood tank. I just got one that goes where the cabin filter is. Hold 2.5 gallons and is isolated from engine heat. Lot less hosing to run. Also Killer chiller will basically get rid of any heatsoak.

Not disappointed any more...Ran several 11.75@119.76 passes tonight. Track prep was great, weather was cool. Since last time out I added Shardul's belt wrap kit. Twice before I had found my SC belt skipped off 1 tooth on the crank pulley, so I know it was slipping. I ran the same MPH tonight as I did last time out, when it was 10 degrees colder...Was it the belt wrap? Only other thing changed, is I added a 2 qt resevoir for my split cooling circuit. I saw a max intake temp tonight of 145F and max boost of 10.6 lbs. Can't wait to do the 82mm TB. As a side note...Last weekend I raced a stock E63 on an empty Mexican freeway, and pulled away hard...at least 5-7 car lengths until we both let off
