with close to 600 lbs torque i wouldnt worry to much about weight in the back!! you may be adding some weight to get a hook

Using same OEM lug bolts and changing the hub(no spacer)and the mickeys are an inch taller and absolutely kill top end power.they are like 27in tall.like I said been there done that with the mickeys and there isn't a single person in the 10s with those tires.

Once in 3rd gear the car feels the added height of the taller title and kills the trap speed.

The clk wheels are saving me 20lbs alone over your wheels and I would recommend them to everyone but there not for me.I ran those tires on stock wheels and then on the lighter f14s and hated how tall they were.I remember using gearing calculators and looking for the shortest tire back when I was going yo attempt another 10 sec pass.

edit-your tires are 28lbs each and the r888s are 27,dont know where you read that the mickeys are 23lbs each

i dont either. must be old age messing with my eyes!! how will changing the hub allow the 16" rims to fit? the calipers are the issue with the clk not the hub. they are just to big to fit inside the rim. need spacers to push them outboard of the calipers. i think chawkins had a 20mm spacer that bolted to the hub the the rim bolted to the spacer

The adapter is 20mm bigger and the wheel bolts on that direct. my setup even with spacers is 17kbs lighter than your setup and brand new tires that are an inch shorter that will help out on top end.

i get what your shooting for. was just gleaning info for future use! i actually never had the chance to run them. while waiting for them to be shipped i bought chawkins ccw setup and used them. the clk setup i had wouldnt clear my rear calipers with a 30mm spacer. my rotors were much shallower then the e55 so i went ccw and had no issues.
since i sold my amg i just run my street setup on the turbo. 315 rears make much stickey!!

So I totally forgot that the clk wheels had to be drilled to fit the larger 14mm bolts. The wheel was meant for 12mm. So who has experience drilling larger bolt holes and are there any tricks? My buddy thinks he can do it, but doesn't the bolt need to sit a specific way?

No tricks, just drill the hole large enough so that the bolt sits flush in the hole. You will see what i mean once you start drilling. Each wheel should take 5-7min.

I did it the long way and opened each one up with a grinder. Others have used a 5/8th drill bit which is much quicker.
Keep in mind the ball seat is still R12, even though the bolt shank is 14mm. Usa rad direct makes a bolt for this.

You should try getting Hoosiers outside the US, I got my CLK wheels for $75 had the spacers made, new bolts and wheels machined for $100. Then imported my Hoosiers which were $800 for the pair
