Need to clean brake rotors??

Hard to find anything "brake" related on here that's not either "which pads to use" or "best lightweight rotors"

My question for the group: Have you guys ever/do you need to periodically clean out the drilled holes in the rotors? I was looking the other day while washing and noticed the holes appear to be at this point completely clogged with caked-in dust. Still life left in the pads from what I can see, though I'll look closer at that too.

Is it a combo of the amount of dust and maybe moisture on wet days? Is it normal that they get plugged up like that? and would I just spray some cleaner and use something to knock/wipe it outa there?

Thanks guys!

just stab the build up with a small phillips head screwdriver. shouldn't be a big deal.

figured it was pretty straight forward, just wanted some feedback if there was anything i should be aware of or if the clogging of the rotors was very out of the ordinary

Dirt Scooters
best way is to use a blow gun to blow the brake dust out. Make sure rotors are cool when you do it.

E55
Also, you can try using brake cleaner or a wheel cleaner.
