Difference between a larger and smaller torque converter?

I bought a 55K tranny for my highly modded C32, i noticed today as i was installing that the 55K tranny has a larger torque converter then the one in the C32, i need to know what's the advantage and disadvantage between the 2 and how it affect drivebility?
thanks.

Dirt Scooters
The size of the converter relates a lot to the stall and RPM. A smaller converter will take a lot more rpm to get the fluid moving thru the stator to make the car move. The larger the converter is the more hp/torque it can take also. (reason diesel trucks have 13'' converters) and the larger the converter is the lower the stall speed can be also.

Stick with the smaller original converter. The larger one will be mismatched for your 6 cyl and lighter vehicle weight.
