leak at the rear fuel rail

been smelling gas the past few days in the engine bay, Looked this morning a found a leak at the back of the fruel rail under the trottle body, Is this a hard fix and anyone know of a DIY Do you cut the clamps from the airbox and just use hose clamps. Not sure is it is just simpler going to the Indy. It isnt pouring out but coation the intake tube and stinking to high hell. I appreciate any help Thanks guys!

The airbox pipe unclips from the throttle body. Once the airboxes/Y pipe are removed, you can get a better idea of where it is leaking from.

Update, gas was coming down the fluid check tube behind the valve body. Still can't see where it is coming from. Making me nuts. Is it common the have the throttle body leak?

If you have some other mods for power it may be time to upgrade to an aftermarket setup. Or maybe get a stock take off from someone that upgraded theirs.

Fuel does not pass through the throttle body, so no, that is not leaking. The fluid check tube you mention, are you talking about the transmission tube with the red cap? If so, it sounds like the fuel pressure dampner is leaking. It is held in place by a large spring clip. Not too difficult to replace.

Just to add. The dampner is located on the fuel rail near the trans tube. It is circular.

Exactly, it is poring downs the trans dipstick tube. I am taking the plenums off in the morning to expose the fuel rail. Guess I will see every thing then. Thanks so much for the info! I feel much better now.

You may also find it listed as a fuel pressure regulator.
