I was wondering if it was a joke lol

Pulls transmission code. Report back, but yes, not looking good. Mileage? Maintenance? Check trans fluid? Black-Grey=not good. Sorry
|
Check the tranny fluid..
I'm no MB tech, but it could be the conductor plate. Which Jake from Eurocharged helped me with mine :) My trans started banging gears hard then slipping like crazy. Changed fluid and filter (was low on fluid) stopped slipping and stopped banging super hard, still shifts a bit funky from time to time but I'm pretty sure i have to change the conductor plate also. |
Good luck man, how many miles on the car? And have your did the tranny fluid change?

I was banging trannies hard... Then I left Thailand.
As for this particular problem, I can offer no advice. |

:rolf: Jk As others said, check trans codes. May just be a conductor plate. Do the trans connector while your at it. |

Epic topic name..lol

Its most likely conducter plate but I might be wrong. Friend of mine had the similar issue, can't shift (trans stopped working), slipping tranny, etc... He had to pay big bucks to get the conducter plate replaced at the dealership. He was around 98K miles.

Thats the problem, when it first happened no code got pulled, just the SOS code and for some reason my mechanic wasnt able to clear it either. Im gonna go to the guy that tuned my car because he has better scanning hardware.

My car was shifting rough from first to second, the dealer found no error codes... They swapped in a control unit from another E55 and the car started shifting perfectly. They replaced part number 035-545-39-32
This is just a shot in the dark, but I thought I would throw it out there. Good luck |

I Actually got very lucky Because there's two types of conductor plate. One of them has an immobilizer the other one doesn't and the one with your immobilizer I would have to go to the dealership to install, they won't even sell you the part. The Adjuster came on Friday and he said that he needs the tranny taken apart so my mechanic is doing that now they're paying for everything and hopefully I get a free rebuild out of it. Again I highly recommend coverage one 3rd party warranty, ill never buy a new car...less hastle with them then with dealer warranty plus you can take it where you want. Heres a few pics of the codes and part. Might be good info for others in the future... keep u guys updated with final outcome. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...34B78B04F9.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...3412C883E0.jpg |
Good to see your making progress, however I seriously doubt the company will pay for a new complete transmission rebuild when they could instead just drop the oil pan and remove the valve body assembly instead of pulling the entire transmission and taking it apart. Have seen where even Mercedes would just replace clutch packs on a single clutch and install everything else back in as is. As for me, I would never allow someone to put their hands inside my transmission, they would never complete a job to my standards, but then I realize many do not have the tools, time, know how to rebuild the trans. Many here work on their own car and would not waste the money on a warranty-though probably should in many cases. :)
Best of luck. |
those rpms sensors fail on the conductor plate.
