Need your thoughts
So I am a lurker here, not an owner of a fine MB AMG vehicle as of yet but do have an eye out for a 2011 W212, realistically won't be able to get it til 2014 when the new version comes out and the price drops more.
However I came across a Red 2004 W211 (E55) with 59K miles, CPO until 100K or 2016 for $29K.
Is that a good deal? I have searched autotrader, cars.com, and ebay and see them around 25K but without the CPO.
I'm thinking if I get the E44 and keep it till the warranty runs out, then move into the 2011 W212 that would be a good plan. (Yeah like I need to talk myself out of it)
Problem is I don't NEED a car, I have a perfectly good 300C. But I WANT a 450+HP car for backup.
What do ya thing? Should I pull the trigger?

That would explain why it is red, I had never seen one before but it looks quite nice.
I have read the car fax on it and it does not look like there were alot of issues, there was an Air Injection Pump Replaced (SuperCharger?) at 15K mi and the the computer was retuned, then Brake fluid flushed/changed both at 15K and 26K which seems a bit odd.
I will most likely only drive this car in the non-winter months so I should be under 15K miles a year.

MB’s of all kinds.
$29,000 is too high. Not to mention it has 60k miles on it too! They must be playing that color card to sell it. Being a red that is very rare but not worth paying that much more for a car. I would say keep shopping around.

Barolo Red is a standard color on benzes with the typical metallic cost upgrade...i thin it was $599? They come up time to time on AMGs
Ive seen C32s, SL55s, and E55s with that same color.
I would gather that that red would hurt resale value not help it.
