+-+-+Crank Snout Repair Now Available from B.I.P.+-+-+
We are finally now offering a repair service to your M113K cranks if it has been damaged due to incorrect installs, and or defective pulleys.
The damaged crank is corrected back to within MB tolerances, and at the same time, we have a full keyway cut the entire length of the snout
The program works like this, you send in your damaged crank as a core exchange, and we send you one of our B.I.P. units for the cost of $795.
Let us know if you have any questions, and this is our first unit that is available for sale that came out of Craig's E55.
Thanks again for your business, and continued support, regards B.I.P.

Cool!
Although to be honest if my crank snout ever got damaged i would probably burn the car to the ground and blame it on the leaky fuel situation that MB doesn't want to fix!

The Real way to fix this mess
Very Nice . I like the .0005 clearance fit. You can Heat it lightly ,150* F and still get it index properly. As usual Nice Job Craig!

To answer that question, yes when the snout is machined, material can be taken off, and added back to a certain limit. The adding back of material is done so by welding the snout and turning it down, followed by micro polishing the snout, and journals. This process is repeated until the snout circumferance/diameter is within MB factory spec.
So an out of round snout (bent, ovaled) can be fixed, obviously depending on severity

My 06 e55 had a 168mm crank pulley installed. The pulley spun and the bolt eventually backed out. Do you guys still have the renewed machined cranks? I'm kind of losing hope with this damn motor. 70k miles on it btw.
