All of a sudden, I am able only to partially fill the gas tank of my 2001 E55 before the automatic shutoff kicks in. Today, for example, I could only get around 10 gallons into my tank (the display window in my instrument panel afterward showed a total of 11) before the pump clicked off -- sensing the tank to be full.

Does anyone have an idea what the cause of this problem might be? It is surely a new one for me!
