Has anyone ever tried to swap steering wheels with another Mercedes model. i want to try to install an New SL steering wheel in my 06 E55. Just not sure what would be involved if possible with wiring of new airbag and steering controls. I have done the thicker flat bottom with paddle shift conversion already but I just want something totally different.

was wondering the same, i was able to come across the new three spoke steering wheel and was thinking of installing but didnt know if the connectors were the same or if the steering angle sensor would be different... would love to hear someone else's input before i pull my steering wheel off for no reason

I can tell you for a fact that the wheel from a CLK63 Black Series will work. It is a marvelous wheel and the paddle shifters are fully functional.
