Extended Warranty - E63
I just bought and was shocked at the cost of extended warranties for an E63.
Lowest cost was about 4 grand for a 2 year 25K all the way up to 13K for a 6 year 100K.
These were 100% coverage warranties.
Is this standard or can I do better elsewhere?
Thanks

not sure if it matters since you already bought a warranty, but CarMax offers CNA warranties, mine was 1800-3000 depending on deductable choen, and theyh are for 6 yrs/up to 125,000 total miles on vehicle
Makes up for the fact that their cars are a little more expensive

The reason of this is Carmax is North America's largest reseller of used cars, 2M in 2011 so extended warranty companies line up to get their business and you as a consumer benefit from this relationship.
This is one of those, "Secret doors" in owning an AMG. I modeled an S65 CNA extended warranty from CarMax (I called them and they walked me through the numbers) and it was only $3K it get an extended 6 or 7 year warranty on a 2006 S65 that was good for up to 125K miles!

Interesting. I did not buy the warranty. I told the stealer that I might as well buy a 2010 that still has a factory warranty.

This way you take advantage of the depreciation in the car, but mitigate your risk of buying a slightly older model and it's higher rate of repairs with a superb aftermarket warranty for a very low price.
You will pay a slightly higher price at Carmax for your AMG, but that is quickly recouped the moment you take it in to the dealer and the repair is covered by your warranty.
