So your going to tell me if you swap out 1 5/8 long tube headers with a 2.5'' exhaust system over to a 1 7/8 long tube headers with 4'' collectors and 3'' exhaust you will GAIN torque also if its tuned properly?

It looks like they have a new page up for the MB systems:

http://www.americanracingheaders.com/MercedesBanner.htm
When i was thinking about getting the headers i read it had a 4'' collector in one of the threads.

You're right:

https://mbworld.org/forums/5165427-post1.html

I'm going to confirm with ARH. It's gotta be a typo.

Thanks to BIP, we do have some data regarding 1 7/8" primaries vs 1 3/4" and their effect on the power curve.

Unfortunately this is N/A, as I couldn't find anything like this for the E55. Who knows...boost and tuning may change the results.

These are 2 different E63s..one with ARH, and the other with MBH. The car with MBH starts out with 20 more whp stock.

Thanks Tim. I'm still on stock manifolds with the KB @ 14PSI. I know I need to upgrade.

Alright, I got the american racing headers installed this past Saturday. Quality was top notch as expected, Ive installed long tubes from AR on about a dozen cars previously (all Corvettes and one Ford Raptor) so I knew what to expect.

I am getting tuned by EC tonight so I haven't gotten to go WOT yet, but the sound is amazing so far.

However, I am having some issues with the drivers side fitment. The steering shaft is rubbing the header, particularly on left turns. I haven't had a chance to put it back on the lift, but when I get back from the Rolex 24hr this weekend I am sure its nothing that some heat and a pry bar cant fix. Other than the steering shaft rubbing, all else went well. Overall it took about 4 hours to complete the install with breaks in between and I will update everyone once I figure out the rubbing issue.

That's the thing...you drive an MB to be a capable daily driver. You should not be getting fitment issues and i would expect you not to get them on a system that costs a pretty penny. You are OK now, but it will get on your nerves. I know as i have gone through this with several systems...

I find solutions like...why don't you just bend a few parts of the under body, or a few header pipes, not to be a solution

where the hell is the test fitments and R&D prior to consumer sales

But thank you for sharing your experience and hope it all works out for you

I agree 100%, I've experienced this myself on past vehicles I've owned and I have remedied it. But, like you said this is a Mercedes and those headers did cost a good bit so I expected better.

Thank you for the update, Solo!

I know it's a pain, but I'm pretty sure that Anthony would get you a new DS header.

How is the ground clearance?

Ground clearance is fine, no problems there.

Tune is complete but I've got a check engine light, I'm going to scan it this weekend to see if its something that can be fixed in the tune.

Folks - I am having some custom headers installed (made by Benzworks in Huntington Beach, CA.)....The headers are a work of art (pics to follow) and are made of thick, high grade steel, have no fitment issues, and have been shown to add ~50 whp on the dyno (on cars with similar mods to mine).

I have NO IDEA, why Serge / Benzworks is NOT ADVERTISING these headers as they would be a great option for all looking for a true quality piece.

100% agree. I still have my kleeman headers that I put on in 2005. I would love to put on LTH but everyone of those LTH that I searched has fitment or O2 related issues.

Not mine ....I will be posting pics early next week and doing a writeup on the headers Benzworks made for me...Awesome fit and awesome power. It should be no surprise as Benzworks has a stellar reputation in southern California.

I believe Benzworks will be starting a group buy as well. (They also have some really nice 2 piece brake options for folks too ...)

2017 Charger Hellcat
This past week I had these installed as well,I bought the setup used from another member here..It's the headers to hi flo cats then to stock resonators..
The good: Installation was pretty easy (as per my mechanic) The quality is good, sound is good (especially at WOT) They make good power (40rwhp)..
The bad:The fitment is not so good, the drivers side headers rub A LOT when turning left and accelerating..
