any input/wisdom appreciated.
forgive me if this is posted in the wrong area.
im looking at buying a 03 or 05 e55. they both have a little over 100k miles. i am a 22 yr old and would be looking at this car as a daily..
would be my first benz coming from a family of w210 owners.
my other interest is a 2001 e55 with 80k. a little cheaper.. but you know how POWER calls.

65 Chevelle Wagon w/ C5 frame, 08 ML63, 04 S600, 04 E55,(sold) 00 ML55,(sold) 98 C43-55K Swap
The 2001 would be the most reliable and cheapest to maintain. If your family has 210's you allready know this
If you must go 211, I personally would go for the 05. 03's seem to be the most problematic. The 211 has many more points of failure than a 210 however it is a completly different beast than a 210 e55 and may be worth the added occasional repairs for you. It would be for me.

22 yr old looking to buy a high mileage used e55 ??? I hope you have plenty of spare cash or a really good job....(Sorry my point is, although an 03 - 06 e55 is a great and fun car, I am assuming you need a reliable and affordable daily driver. I don't think a high mileage e55 is a great starter car for someone relatively new to the job market. Either way, if you are determined to get the e55, the later models are better - larger diffs, no issue with the trans / radiator, and slightly nicer interior, but make sure you get one that has been well cared for.)
