any input/wisdom appreciated.

forgive me if this is posted in the wrong area.
im looking at buying a 03 or 05 e55. they both have a little over 100k miles. i am a 22 yr old and would be looking at this car as a daily..
would be my first benz coming from a family of w210 owners.
my other interest is a 2001 e55 with 80k. a little cheaper.. but you know how POWER calls.

The 2001 would be the most reliable and cheapest to maintain. If your family has 210's you allready know this If you must go 211, I personally would go for the 05. 03's seem to be the most problematic. The 211 has many more points of failure than a 210 however it is a completly different beast than a 210 e55 and may be worth the added occasional repairs for you. It would be for me.

one car at a time
22 yr old looking to buy a high mileage used e55 ??? I hope you have plenty of spare cash or a really good job....(Sorry my point is, although an 03 - 06 e55 is a great and fun car, I am assuming you need a reliable and affordable daily driver. I don't think a high mileage e55 is a great starter car for someone relatively new to the job market. Either way, if you are determined to get the e55, the later models are better - larger diffs, no issue with the trans / radiator, and slightly nicer interior, but make sure you get one that has been well cared for.)
