Ok to plug this coolant line temporarily?

I had a similar fitting break off on my car when i accidentally leaned on it, but it was the end on the coolant reservoir. Same style ends and broke off similar to yours. I was actually able to make a fitting out of a hose barb to go into the fitting that has the clip going through it. Needless to say even though i epoxied it, it did not hold for longer than two days. Luckily i had already next day ordered one the day it broke, and by the time it gave way, I already had the new one sitting ready to go.
Good luck.

Here's a hose barb, which i cut in half
Here's the fitting that goes into the coolant reservoir
Drilled this out slightly smaller then the hose barb flush side
Pressed them into eachother with epoxy and let harden. Sorry for the crappy phone pic.So you could do this, and just on the barbed end use a piece of rubber hose and a plug, or simply make a plug work with the OEM fitting similar like i did. I used JB weld on the two pieces and it did not hold for long although it felt solid. Not sure why, but just a warning. If i had to do it again, i would probably try one of the epoxies that are meant for plastic.
Good luck.
