I was considering getting a pair of those TTM Carbon Fiber air scoops. Anyone who has them see them as a good investment? It seems our intake tubes are pretty restrictive. Wondering how much of a difference they'll make power wise in relation to money spent.
it's a cosmetic mod. i wanna say i feel a difference, but when you have that much power out of our cars the slightest difference won't matter IMO. it's just mental i think.
Not worth the money until you have them on your car
If you do buy them as I did. Its not a 20 minute job. Take your time and do not cut, crack or brake anything that you are taking off. You will need some of the parts to fit the Air Scoops even neater than what you see in a picture.
I was shattered when I saw what they looked like especially as they where for cosmetic purposes only. After the first fit week I took them off after starting out to check my air filters, my engine bay was filthy.
Eventually got my head around it and worked out a solution to fitting them so the air collected could go where it was directed now and even the scoops started to look the part.
Sorry you lost me at performance. I astounded that on a very popular site / forum like this one should be very conscience on the words or phrases used when reply to a thread whether negative or positive, as many members and readers are Military personnel still serving or not as I, take offence to your reply and that you please consider in future replies those that have no good memories of that type of ordnance or experiences.
a. You physically block 10% of your radiator surface area
b. The intake velocity must surely be governed by the engine vacuum until you're doing about 150mph...very unlikely to reach a "ram air" scenario.
Not as cool as your car. Just love white.
If that 10% coverage does anything to my running temp. Their gone
This car was built to go very fast for long periods (touring car racing). I have officially only ever reached 305 kph once. Its not the car but the driver if people only knew how this car feels and sounds at 270 kph, then brake and drop a gear to approx. 240 kph, then plant your foot on the pedal hard and fast. Just amazing but race tracks (straights) for testing is very expensive just like the Air scoops. I live in Australia and wear trackies and they have no pockets at all.
Take care and more so take care of that White beauty mate

Yes it does do something if having mods and modified intake already get rid of those plastic tubes.
The Cooler is already covered 99% AC sits in front of the Cooler
so they dont cover the cooler at all but the AC that sits in front of the cooler and covers the whole cooler
Just had mine replaced is why I know u cant see it and it is hell of job since it is sharing with the oil cooler and the tranny cooler everything need to be topped up
not like a regular W211.
opposite lol specially high speed I diff feel a kick more than before but mine is also moded and ECU tune from fabtech-performance.com diffently worth it but be prepared lol get some cleanable air filters
these guys are worth every penny

a. This is an uninformed assumption, you are blocking exactly nothing.
