W211 2008 distronic coding
Hy. I also installed the dystonic radar and the electrical installation and now I have to do the coding. Can anyone tell me in which menus to enter and make changes? The car is a 2008 W211 E300 Bluetec

Using Star I beleive it is in Instrument Cluster >Control unit Adaptations >Variant coding >National variant coding >Distronic >Set to Present. You should aslo check under the Central Gateway and the front (underhood) SAM to see if there are any settings for it to change there too.

Hi All, just passing by to say what a great topic this is, i followed the instructions and managed to install a distronic with no issues so far. Only the coding was done by a guy that knows this stuff, all the installation - by my newbie hands.

Wow 13 years on and people are still finding my DIYs useful! I am still driving my E320 CDI in good health every day. Sadly, I had crashed it quite a few years ago and the distronic was damaged, maybe I should install it again. I love these cars and plan to keep mine forever. Enjoy your newly added toy. I also added a surround view camera and CarPlay recently. I should probably share that at some point. That one is definitely a major upgrade. Unfortunately, I did not document in great detail but at least could do a show and tell.

hey Turbo. Crazy to see you are still active and posting on this thread. It gives me the opportunity to ask a question regarding the W211 distronic retrofit. I have heard on the 2003, and 2004 models require a distronic control module, and 2005, 2006 do not require said module. What year was your car? Did you require a distronic control module? Or was it just the front radar, switch, and wiring harness? Thanks so much!
