New Guy Checking In!

Hey what's up guys I just purchased an Iridium Silver E55 AMG as my new daily driver. I'll try to get some pics tomorrow after I give it a wash. I'm in the process of turbo charging my M3 and wanted something quick and comfortable that I can drive to school in Chicago traffic (my first auto car lol). Overall this thing moves I lit up the tires at 65mph on the highway on my way home, but it's also extremely comfortable. My question to you guys is the car is Eurocharged Stage 1 and the trans is a little jerky in traffic at low speeds is this due to the tcu tune, the pulley, or maybe its in need of motor and trans mounts? I test drove 3 other stock E55's and they shifted pretty smooth. Looking forward to being part of this community .

Welcome to the Forum! E55 is a great car. I don't think any of the mods has to do anything with the transmission jerk. Typically transmission shifts little harsher in AMGs.

It usually jerks/shifts hard in first shifts of the day (cold mornings) but should shift smooth after its warmed up. The five speed transmission in E55 is virtually bullet proof if maintained properly and not abused.

One remedy would be re setting the adaptations. I would also recommend looking at motor and transmission mounts.

Again welcome to the forum and enjoy your new ride!

Looks like we have something in common. My turbo M3 is done except for finishing up wiring AEM. I love the AMG as a Daily driver ... except for the gas consumption .. just got to suck it up. Also my first Auto!

Mine transmission jerks but I guess that's normal. Wish it would down shift faster though ... sometimes it's lazy to downshift.

Congrats on the car, I know you'll enjoy it .. if it is in good health.

We should meet up sometime. I'm only an hour and a half away from the city now, but I think a meet would be fun. I know, there's another thread for "Chicago Peeps", I am just saying.

Thanks man, definitely keep me updated when it's up and running. I will be going with the pro efi unit but may switch to AEM when their new unit is available for the m3. I have the tcu tune but still wish it shifted a bit faster, so far I love it the low end torque is amazing something our M3's don't have lol.

A meet would be awesome, I saw that thread seems like a decent amount of people meet up every now and then. Are you from down state? I went to SIU for 2 years and am pretty familiar with that area.

Here are a couple of pics, I just washed the car and my fingers went numb so they turned out blurry lol. I'll take some better pics soon but the mod bug has already bitten. Planning on lowering it, e63 bumper, cf diffuser, cf lip, forgestar f14's, matte black emblems, and an eisenmann race exhaust.
