That's why you made the challenge duh. If you were as serious as you said then give a reasonable timeline and its doable. Also $20,000 for a one off twin turbo kit with tuning and having to make a complete new manifold doesn't leave much room for profit when your doing it right.
+1000!!! look at teds post and most of them are how "mercedes tuners suck" and such, and then AMS steps up to the plate and he then craps on them cuz they said they need 12 weeks lmao! i think 12 weeks is stellar for a one off twin turbo setup on a car that its never been done on!

ted just likes to bash tuners on our forum, thats his MO

LOL, almost never post? I think you mean NEVER post! Says this is your first post and you signed up in 2011 haha.

What you saw or know about sounds interesting though, to bad people don't get on and share this stuff with each other more freely, sounds like you are either an insider/the person getting it done or just got lucky to come across pics. Secrets about cool stuff like that suck.

Link? Just went to Instagram site and can't even get to see pics? Do you have to be a member and actually log in to look at stuff? If so that is pretty lame.

I guess I don't know what you mean to search "#tags" since I refuse to be apart of the Instagram or Twitter world. Facebook is more than enough for me.

Do I go to Google and type in "#e55 twincharged" or "#e55 turbo" and click images and stuff like that?

Am I seeing this right? The first few pics on that link? So cut a huge hole in your spare tire well leaving the bottom of your trunk wide open? Then also leaving your trunk useless with a blazing hot turbo sticking up in the trunk? That doesn't seem like a great idea to me for some reason.

I'm assuming a cover will be installed. The spare tire well will become useless but the trunk will work fine. Also, an insulated turbo with an insulated cover won't bring TOO much heat to the trunk.

All depends how you go about this.

......honestly, do you really think 8 vs 12 weeks is the problem. You really think if one gave AMS 12 weeks instead of 8, they'll have tt E55 with no issues?

........secondly, I placed the challenge at 8 weeks and $20K before AMS responded. So if anyone is changing the terms, it is AMS.

.........my view of Mercedes tuners is much more nuanced than what you describe. I praise those that deliver what they say. And yes, I don't have much use for so called tuners with endless threads about builds that never get completed successfully.

.......tt of an AMG car is not impossible. If I remember correctly there was a tt of an NA ML63 by Kleemann about 6 years ago or so in Denmark. So those companies like Kleemann that can do it, are not the ones that come to the forum and endlessly brag about it. The companies that keep talking about it have delivered nothing. Is this untrue?

https://mbworld.org/forums/ml55-amg-...ann-800hp.html

.......Not everyone that sells trinkets is a "tuner."
Ted

this topic is interesting for me as i can make/ source parts myself.. time will tell though I have three other projects to finish first.. I have been toying with options lately as i see the walls that people are hitting with the blowers I love the car but have gotten used to it.

as others have mentioned, you placed a stupid unreasonable deadline to give yourself an out.... cuz you're all talk... man up, if you want a twin turbo e55 then AMS has said they will do it

but instead you back out and say.. "see, no good tuners... they couldnt do it in 8 weeks, they suck"

Ummm no thanks,

I would use that $37,500.00 toward financing a used E63 bi turbo, cause it works NOW. I understand Renntech has the bi turbo 5.5 liter to 800 hp at the crank. Oh and yes turbo talk for E 55 has been going on for 9 years and I have not seen one, but I did hear of one in Montana.
Ya, could have been driving around for a month already in a twin turbo, E63.
Now do we even have one pic of any progress in the 10 year quest for a turbo E55, let alone a twin turbo E55 that actually runs?

Funny how people think 8 weeks is not long enough to build a twin turbo E55 when you can buy an E63 twin turbo in a few minutes.
