Many of us on here can buy whatever car we choose so if you're here to prove that your car handles better then an a 4 door sedan then that is quite pitiful! It's not the P cars that disgust me...it's the owners of them that are just like you! Completely brain dead and can't even figure out a completely harmless thread about a guy who pulled up next to another guy, regardless of the cars involved, and/or who won or lost! Just the idea of the P guy wanting to run a little and have fun makes that P guy, more than likely, a cool and fun Porshe owner...unlike most others!
I am just wondering...do your think that you daddy can beat up my daddy?
...so once again...I rest my case!

theres no need to prove my porsche handles better than a e55. my slk32 could outhandle it as well. most likely it could outrun it as well.
my op was meant that there should have been no other outcome. he wasnt even racing the guy. simply catching up to him which he thought was a massive kill. its like your vette racing a honda civic with a space saver spare on. the outcome is inevitable. the better choice is to not even waste your time.
last ill post about this. if you truely want to run your e55 against a porsche in a straight line come down to clayton. its an open invite. 1/2 mile run what you brung. side by side wide open for 1/2 mile. again ask bruce about my passion for racing i know him well.
silverstrk ill be at clayton ( or beech bend raceway almost every weekend) more than happy to accomodate you

i think theres about 6 turbos going to the half mile in chicago in june. are you taking your e55?
last yr at clayton the gtr 's were running in excess of 180 mph with a top speed of 190 mph for the top trophy
I have a friend who has a 993T WITH P50 package and want's NOTHING to do with me, I got $100 and a case of your choice, just let me know if your in my area.. BTW I love porche's have had them and am looking at a 997tt right now for the weekend...
However, my baby is a BEAST....

I have modded a few cars and refuse to be the guinea pig so I ask before I do anything as far as modding. Worthless threads to you, intelligent to me.
Reluctant to say...I have had a few P cars, don't fit in them well because if you are over 6' then your screwed and I happen to be 6'5" and 280lbs., and sold one of mine last year. A 1987 911 turbo with 21k miles which I had for only about 2 years. I have had many cars that I do not fit in too well but only use them locally and then I sell them. I do what I love to do, buy old collectible cars and sell them. I just sold my 1966 corvette and a 1963 fuelie vette, both convertibles and did not fit in them too well either but I still drove them here and there because I love certain cars.
As far as Bruce goes, any other mods will indeed be done by him as I have no desire to do the work myself and I am thrilled to give the work to such a great mechanic and person! So, I don't know what the beef is about having someone else do your mod work? If you do it yourself you're a better person? I have done it all P guy, I'm done with that after over 500 cars!

silverstrk YOU were the one who said anytime anywere. clayton it is. as for a 993 turbo it is very collectable but no were close to the power level the 996 tt is capable of
bbbss the gearing in the e55 would actually love the half mile. if you can keep it cool for 30 secs of wot you would have a blast

My background is in running HPDEs, but I did do some drag racing in high school (1980s). One thing I learned about drag racing is that it is all about the Benjamins. You want to go faster, spend more money. The E55 is great in a straight line, but handling is so-so. I use the E55 to haul around people or to go out with the girlfriend. The torque on the freeway is phenomenal, but I love hitting the curves more than I do straight line acceleration. For the curves, I had my 911 turbo, but I sold that car a few weeks ago because I didn't have time to drive it. I've been looking at F cars, but I do miss my turbo so I looked at another one today.
All cars have a purpose and I appreciate each and every one of them. One thing I can say is that I don't engage in or condone this kind of street/freeway racing. Sure it can be fun and possibly a youthful indiscretion, but what is there to prove? You want to race or have something to prove, take it to the track, be it 1/4 mile or road course, and don't endanger others on the road.
