Buddy has a badly scored bore No 5 cyl. (2003 E55 W211)

Cats have completely blocked poss causing over heating.

Anyone have a used engine for sale or ideas on a set of rings and pistons.

Can this block be sleeved or rebored.....?

Any help/ideas appreciated.

Just go the dealer. It's only 15,000$ for a new one from MB.

You can dry sleeve as well. That might be a little easier to get done in NZ

 

Im not sure its entirely possible to hone or bore these cylinders out asI believe they are treated with alumasil or nakasil and honing would damage that coating further. Id say go with the MID sleeve block or just pick up a used one at the local boneyard if possible
