stick or auto?

after reading a post in generals on manual or auto, i decided to poll the board so if you would not mind,
if there was an option to have a manual tranny on all mercedes, would you have ordered your car with it? also please feel free to open this up for discussion if you feel mercedes should not make it an option or you wouldn't get a manual tranny.

i am going to average out the stats to see whats the majority's vote in mbworld

Nissan 350Z & Toyota Landcruiser 100 Tdi, i lack a benz...but one day
IMO autos are just fine for the supercharged v8 motors..700nm is alot of torque to try put down, and would be difficault. if there was a manual option i think the clutch wouldnt survive too long on those motors.

To get a more accurate feedback, I suggest you add a clutchless manual systems to the poll (F1, SMG,..etc.). This what I'll vote for.

I did a 250-mile drive up to the North Georgia mountains yesterday with 22 other cars...mostly E36 M3's.

VERY twisty roads and I found the touch shift to work perfectly in this enviroment. I had no problems keeping pace with the M3-pack...the CLK55 will power out of the corners and I could down shift for engine braking at will

I remember, Kain. You also did a poll on satisfaction with E 55. I think they have slipped so far down in the list no one notices. Why don't you write something in the saitsfaction one so it goes to hte top. Or find a way to make it `stick' to hte top.
