on my 07 E63, when I in reverse and hit the brakes it makes a "clunk" noise. The dealer says its normal on these cars, can anyone confirm? thanks

Gone but not Forgotten 2006 E55 Renntech
That happened to me once (E55).
Every time I leave my driveway I have to reverse first then go into D.

Like I said it happened once but was quite alarming (I though maybe subframe bolts had snapped or something).

IMHO it is not normal.

Mine makes no such clunk. Does your car make a similar clunk the first time the brake is applied after/ when switching into drive. Possible loose fitting brake pad that is moving within the caliper???

No it doesn't. It does it every time I start going reverse. Dealer said its the caliper and its normal. It felt more like a bushing or something is lose.

Ask the "dealer" how the caliper which is bolted securely to the spindle could be making the clunk noise. It does not sound serious but the clunking is not a normal sound coming from the brakes on a 07 E63. Further investigation is warranted, how about a sound clip, or have someone walk beside the car when reversing to see if it is side oriented.

My 08 does the same thing each morning, pulling out of the garage. Only does it one time and then no more.

I did not. My car is still under warranty and it doesn't seem like much of an issue to me. I may have them look into it before my warranty expires.
