so twice today when taking off in manual mode the gauge speedo gauge turned red. It was for a split second and i couldn't make out what it said. Can anyone shed some light on this? thanks in advance.

i dont think it is, would it remain red if the parking brake was engaged? the red light came on for a split second.

it would remain red in most cases but am not 100% on if it will go away as it does with driving with an open trunk or w.e it will show red than if u ignore it will keep on going than it goes away

Open and slam the hood it might be not shut 100%

maybe its taking off so fast even the paint is coming off? LOL i'll make sure the hood is tightly closed and the E brake is off and check again. will reply with results.

no messages at all, i checked E brake and hood and both are good. I tried it again and again it turns red at acceleration in first gear. i tried to see what was showing and it looks like its the same gauge display only its red.

I would say alternator is on it's way out....when it doesn't receive the correct voltage it will display a message and make the dash red.

Had that happen to me and the alternator went soon after. It was noticeable on take off then went right away...

could be the aux battery also

Now that you mention AUX, today was the first time I used my aux to play music from my iPhone. Can that have anything to do with it?

no not at all,I had a bad aux battery in the engine bay and would make the red dash come up every now and then,checked the voltage and it was like 8-9volts and replaced it with a bike battery that fit in the spot and it went away for years after I swaped the aux battery out
