CL55 Oil Level Sensor Issue
I have a 2003 CL55 and have been getting a constant low oil level message. It got quite annoying so I dropped the pan and changed the sensor today. I filled the car with oil and a new filter. It is at the exact full mark. This is after 3 restarts and a five minute time period for the oil to return to the pan.
I went and drove the car for ten minutes and the low oil level came back on. I noticed it does not do it as often, but it still is giving me a low oil reading when it should not. I'm getting quite frustrated with this. I have access to a STAR tool. Is there anything that can be done to "adjust" the reading via the ecu?

Thts weird I had the same exact issue. I got irritated and just changed the sensor. Where did you buy your sensor from? It would be very annoying if you bought a malfunctioning new sensor also. Once I changed the sensor I haven't seen that annoying red danger on my display.

I believe you are mistaken. They are different. The level sensor on a CL is a two piece contraption. It has 4 bolts that hold the sensor in, and they are in the crank case.
The E55 is held in by a couple bolts on the side of the block from what I understand.
I did use a new MB part.

I'm going to give Dave's advice a shot tomorrow using Shardul's supplied tool. I hope something happened there. Cars are such a pain in the *** some times.
Thanks to both you guys.
