have the opportunity to run 2013 gt 500

I do plan to lose lol, hopefully will be tonight in some 60degree wether. all I have done is evo sport stg. 2, ic pump, and drag radials. hopefully will have a video for you guys. does anyone suggest brake boosting for the instant power? Will be a roll race. My buddy thinks it will be close, but I dunno. apparently the Ford is stock, but looks like they trap 123mph, wow. I'll make sure to have my messaging seats and coolers on while sipping on a cappuccino, maybe it will give me the upper hand haha.

What is included in the Evo Stage 2 exactly? Pulley and tune I'm assuming? What size crank pulley?

The reason I ask is because I think it's actually going to be very close. I believe they run mid 11s @ 122-124mph. That's almost spot on with a stage II or so E55. Depending on the driving capabilities of the driver in the GT500, you might actually win.

Those things spin like crazy from a dig/slow roll. If you run him from a stop or 10mph roll, I think you might edge him out. Unless Schumacher is driving

No need to "break boost" since your car is not turbo and has instant power from the supercharger. I would absolutely put the car down in 2nd gear though to be ready for the hit even if you are leaving it in drive. Start from 40 or 50 in 2nd and you should be good on traction with those drag radials and as soon as you pound it you will be ripping.

Please bring a GoPro!

I have been there, pulled the 500 1.5 lengths 30-80
They spin huge, I never should have had a chance.
Good luck!

yeh I doubt he is the best driver being he's a bit younger. My car has the full pulley set, with 180mm crank pulley. and plugs+wires (15 hp right there lol). I noticed that my pulley to left of tensioner pulley (idler pulley?) is also a larger diameter than stock, not sure if that makes a difference.

You will beat him then. Trust me, 80% of the people that own that car can't drive it; besides that, the car just spins and spins, you can't just mash the throttle.

180mm in cool weather, you will beat him nicely.

don't have a gopro :-(. if I leave car in 2nd gear in auto s mode is the car gonna still shift itself, cuz the manual shifting is so slow. I honestly haven't tested , only had the car a few months now, don't wanna be bouncin rev limiter. was figuring brake boost lightly to just have it under a bit more load, good to know there's no need.

Do not manually shift. Let the car do it. Leave it in 'S'.

Yes, leave in S mode and hit the stick to shift down to 2nd and it will shift to 3rd on its own.

If he hooks you're dead.

LOL, I figured I'd be the one realistic guy in this thread Those cars are stupidly powerful. Do I hope you win? Of course I do, but the new GT500's are NASTY.
Good luck!

Who's not being realistic in this thread??

We all know what they're capable of, and everyone here knows if the GT grabs it'll be tough, but the fact of the matter is, not every Joe Schmoe off the street can drive that car correctly. You give it too much throttle from a dig or slow roll, all you're doing is lighting rubber. Whereas the E55 is gone to almost 80mph, by the time they reach 110/120, game over. A stock GT500 is a mid 11 second car and the same traps as lightly modded E55s. This isn't too far fetched. We're not talking about a Corvette ZR1 now.

On top of that, the OP is modded.

I'd venture a guess that the OP will win or at the very least, stay even with one.

Armo, I WANT the 55 to win, but I'm a Ford camp convert and good lord the new GT500's are absolute beasts. And the 2013's have launch control, which also works as traction control from a roll (can be enabled any time). I'm not saying he can't win, but it's not going to be easy by any stretch. I definitely want to see how this goes though!

It will be a fun race, get it on camera. With slicks only, nothing else changed on the 2013's they have gone into the 10's. Just like others have said, if he hooks which is unlikely due to have street radials, he will be gone.

Thats what makes our cars so quick, just point and shoot brotha

Give it a shot! I have never seen a new one run quicker than 11.8's at the track, but maybe they have. Of course, I see cars run all over the place too..

Yeah you never know. I ran a Cobra with a 3.4 Whipple and built engine that was making 750whp according to the driver. He was on drag radials too but they were a little old/worn. I ate him up down the 1/4 mile, I watched him in my mirror the whole way trying to keep it straight. He ran like 12.1@126 to my 11.9 or 12.0@118 or something like that on that pass.

I had my GoPro mounted on the front fender facing backwards too all ready so it would have been on tape and probably a pretty good video but the track person made me take it off saying I had to have a sticky mount and not suction cup. Fricken sucked!

How old is he? Is this a "daddy bought his car" scenario and he's a noob to driving manual, too?

Hope he doesn't kill himself or you or others on the road ...
