Has anyone hard-wired a V1 on their W211?

I had it done at a custom stereo shop--the guy did it in about 15 minutes---tapped into the dome lights I believe--the V1 is sitting just to the left of the passenger visor. I am taking my car in for sound system upgrade next week---I will try to remember to ask them exactly how it was installed.

Thanks. If 15 mins is what it takes, I can ask my friend who works as an installer at a stereo shop to do it for me.
