Exclamation PLEASE HELP: Eurocharged TB kit and phenolic spacer

HI,
Question for you all. Why does the EC throttle body kit not have a port for the breather? Is this normal ?? What needs to be done?

Also, do I need gaskets for the phenolic spacers? or just the spacers will suffice??
thanks

You will need to block the breather hose or fit a breather filter. To block you can use a bolt with instant gasket.

Not sure on the spacers

I was under the impression that if blocking the breather hose, it would cause too much crankcase pressure and would blow seals???
Surely there has to be another way?
I know that I asked for help and I am not trying to contradict you, it just does seem right for some reason...

Yes you need gaskets for the phenolic spacers. You just sandwich the spacers between the gaskets. Look at the cork gaskets from needswings.

^ Agreed, you need gaskets. I prefer the factory gaskets.

You can connect the breather line to any vacuum port, such as the one on top of the inlet which is unused for our application. You will not blow any seals if you choose to block it as there is another port which will vent pressure. However, given a choice, I would just find another port and keep it active.

They do not address this issue in their instructions.

When I installed my parts and discovered this I called and asked about it and I was told they have never seen that problem before.

So, I got some fuel line and fabbed up my own breather system with a large T fitting.

There is a large nipple on the inlet that is blocked off. I rand the hose to a T and then into that large nipple on the inlet. That worked fine and yes, it is needed.

How is the crankcase ventilation system working on these engines?
I know from my M119 engines it works two ways based on the load. And it was critical to have it in fully functional condition. Once it wasn't, the engine does vibrate, hesitations on pedal pressing, oil pushed out of the dipstick, etc etc

I use this model. Extremely high quality and a small diameter to fit the cool area against the firewall just to the right of the aux battery.

Got any pics of this setup? I'm about to install my EC 82mm TB and also noticed there's no provision for the PCV system which I wasn't expecting. I'd like to keep the PCV system in place as original, where is the large inlet nipple you're referring to? Thanks
