Does the -10C STAR mod really help for cooling?
Just installed the HE and Bosch 010 on my car and the car is definitely running more consistent, very happy with the results and recovery is 100x better.
Just looking at some other small things to help for cooling, I have read on the forum about a -10C STAR mod that most reputable MB shops do.
My question is, does it actually help much for cooling? Is it worthwhile to do? Are there any adverse impacts to the entire system when doing the
-10C via STAR? i.e. A/C etc.
Thanks for any advice/tips!

I personally don't like the -10 mod only because if makes your car sound like Its ready to take off with the fans running constantly. I ended up wiring my IC pump to run constant with key on power on its own fused circuit. Much quieter operation and the SC will always have coolant that has been pumped through the HE at all times vs. when the car commands the pump on.

I did it on my previous E55... the fan didn't bother me at all. Actually, sometimes I couldn't tell it was even on. It helps keeps the engine temps a bit lower. It takes less than a minute with someone who has STAR. Is it worth it? Personal preference.
Honestly, if you have the upgraded HE and pump, it's not necessary. There are Vettes that run 200*+ engines; Nascar car temps run well over 200*+ as well.. Remember, heat isn't always bad, you want the hot gases coming out of the motor and quickly exiting. As long as your focus is on the air going into your intake (hence the IAT discussions all the time), that's what important with this platform.
