Exactly what I was told and that is the way it should be. Look at one of the biggest blower markets, mustangs. You can buy tuner kits, complete kits or piece it together yourself.
One thing consumers may forget or not even think about is, that this type of R&D work does not keep the doors open. Rolling through customers who need day to day service and maintenance is where the cash flow is.
Unless you are a huge outfit, things like this take time. Doing R&D like this is simply to better the platform, and in the long run you hope it pays off. Not to mention the complications you come across with the crappy tuning options you have for these cars, it can become a tall task.
There will definitely be some monster E55's rolling on the streets soon, its going to be EPIC

i wounder what the specs of this blower are??? the cooler and stuff and the price would be helpful.... seems nice since people can retain their OEM air boxes or their tubes or w.e intake they have VS Wisetec you gotta go their way or no way lol plus i never liked their intake style anyways

So when is it gonna be tuned or has it already been finished? When will there be results to share on how the intake temps workout and power it produces with the Speedriven tune? Figure it will be a good while after all of this before there is a 2nd kit made and then who knows what kind of time frame for several others.

There's a couple/few solutions available now for the hardware. Now, let's see some good software/tunes. It seems that staying pigeon-holed into that nasty, unfriendly MB ECM is a bottleneck. Anyone try a standalone yet? Can one deal with the TCU/Trans?

I.E. 14# of boost @6000 rpm and 14 deg timing @xxx IAT's and 11.5 a/f is gonna be the same on any stand alone or factory computer.
now if there are parameters that tuners cant get to in the ME2.8 for closed loop operation thats another story. which might be the case.

Youve got much to learn grasshopper
going to a stand alone wont make anymore power per say, plus stand alones are Speed denisity anyways which is what are cars are.

I maybe could of articulated it better. but can you point out how my statement is incorrect
"14# of boost @6000 rpm and 14 deg timing @xxx IAT's and 11.5 a/f is gonna be the same HP output on any stand alone or factory computer"

Your statement isn't incorrect, it's just out of place.
The reason you'ld want a standalone on these cars isn't to make more power. Well, it kind of is in the sense that you'll be making more power then 0, which is what you have when it blows up
The tune is the reason behind just about everyone of these things that has failed IMO. And I don't really blame the tuners, either. They do the best they can with what they have to work with, which isn't much. It's like asking somebody to assemble an F35 with a Vise Grips and a universal ratcheting screwdriver with magnetic interchangeable bits.
