Coolant thermostat
Is it true that if we remove thermostat from thermostat housing (and swap it for new thermostat and put it in the old housing) that tehrmostat is destroyed? According to WIS thermostat is changed with the housing and you can not buy just thermostat without housing and if you do swap just the thermostat, that it WILL BE destroyed. Is that true guys?
I am asking this, because my thermostat is faulty and i would like to swap just the thermostat which is left from my old thermostat which have broken housing. Is this going to work or should i buy entire housing and thermostat from the dealer?

The thermostat is meant to be changed as one assembly. I would not want to hack one up just to save a couple of dollars. There are many places you can purchase the complete housing from instead of the dealer, like Rock Auto, Autohausz, parts.com, etc.

You'll be alright. PTE made the 160 degree thermostat for our car. He had to remove the thermostat and reinstall them somehow right? I personally never done one, but by the look of it, it looks doable.
