I was trying to remove my muffler and put straight pipe and weld my stock amg tips.. but exhaust shop said he cant do it.. any body made this work? if so how? I just cant find decent aftermarket tips that look decent..

^For real. I can't even weld and I think I could do that. He probably thought it was a waste of time because you aren't buying something.

actually, the way they are designed, it is quite difficult, and definitely not cost effective. I woudnt say you "cant" do it, but it definitely isnt the best route.

Difficult is one thing, saying you can't is another. Why any reputable muffler shop would say you can't weld tips is beyond me. At the end of the day, he's a paying customer and is paying for the work to be done. Lazy is the only word that comes to mind.

Time to find a better shop...

take it to auto shop and they can run a test on the alternator to see if it is working before you replace it.
