Car has 42K miles ... maintenance items at this point?

I don't have my manual handy (out of town) but wanted to know what items are necessary at this mileage?

When are the Service A, B etc. due? What mileage?

Any other items that start to go around 40-50K miles and/or need to be looked at now?

Thank you for any help, appreciate it.

My car just called for an "E Service" at around 41,000 miles....

I'd been putting off my spark plug change (still had originals in there from 2006) but just did that too... if you haven't done a brake flush recently you are probably due for that also.

So I should do spark plugs now, too? At 42K miles? I thought plugs are good until nearing 100K?

Thanks guys..

Mercedes likes to set a time limit on them as well as a mileage limit.... I think it was something like 5 years? Anyway, with such low mileage on my car it seemed like a waste...especially since they charge something like $800 to do it.

When I had my headers installed, the labor became bascially "free" so I just had to pay for 16 new plugs (which isn't exactly cheap either, but better than $800)

At 40-50K, I'd do the following:

Transmission service - drain and fresh fluid
Brake Flush
Rear diff fluid - drain and fresh fluid

Check out air filters.
Do an oil/filter change.

And your car is definitely past Service 'A' and 'B' at 42K miles. My car has 37xxx miles and Service 'B' was done well before I bought the car.

yup all these dudes said what I would

plus you get find cheap parts in the maintenance parts sticky

my SA has no issue if I bring in my own parts as long as they're OEM (or very close) - so wrench your own, or save some $$ buying parts a little cheaper
