Ahmad, or anyone in the know, I need some help on lodging. Last time I attended your event we stayed in DC right acrossed from the Capital, it was a great hotel but there was no place to park rig and trailer. I ended up having to park the rig at a Wal-Mart 10 miles outside town, unload the CLK and drive it to the hotel. I want to aviod those hassles this time.

So first off, this time I am brining a 50 ft trailer and my dually. I would prefer to stay in DC again just becuase there is a nicer selection of hotels and the nightlife is good. So that being said is there a secure location close to DC I can pay to drop trailer for an evening? If not are there any decent hotels closer to the track that can accomidate a 50 ft trailer? I would prefer to aviod Super 8's and those type os hotels if at all possible.

I have a small 20ft trailer and a normal size p/u truck. I would assume there is a place to park in the hotel but if not then how far are you from the racetrack?

What hotel are you guys (blackbenz, RBJ, etc.) staying at so I can book a room?

I am currently up in the air, still not sure if I will be returning in time. I then also have a pile of stuff waiting at home (102mm throttle body, 4.5" intake, ZL1 supercharger lid which has better intercooler and better flowing lid and AlkyControl meth injection) to get installed and then I need to get with the tuner.

I am praying he will be having a tuning day about 1-1.5 hours from me between 2 different locations he does tune days at during that week I get back and before the track day. If not I will have to drive 3.5 hours south to get with him if he is even available that week (hopefully not traveling tuning somewhere else). So having said all that, we will see, it will definitely be a last minute decision.

No. I am running full interior now. I guess I could throw some race seats in it and a few other things but I'd like to have a 9 second stock interior car. I don't think 9s will be enough to be top 5 at this rental
Jim I can tell you right now there is no nice hotel in DC that can accommodate that. Space is tight. Knowing you I'd recommend the Ritz but theres no way you can leave a trailer there. Gadget's shop is close to the track. There are no nice hotels near MIR. It's pretty much in the middle of nowhere. If you don't end up finding a place let me know and I can see what I can do.
As I told Jim there isn't anything nice in DC that accommodates trailers. If you guys don't find anything let me know and I will see what I can do.

Depends on where you're staying. There are track friendly hotels near MIR you can find on their site but there wont be anything to do but maybe some cowtipping

I usually make the 2 hour drive in the morning but if its fun I may just get a hotel room too

Don't forget to warn people about the Amish population in the MIR area. Lots of horse and buggies and steaming brown piles along the road.

What about the ******* at National Harbor for all you Ritzers? They host large conventions so they've prob got parking for larger vehicles, plus it's right off 95. Easy, peasy. Plus there are alot of great restaurants and bars within walking distance.

There's no parking there either for trailers that big. Be safe with your trailers. There's been a lot of them getting stolen lately.

I expect at least a handful of 1/4 mile records to fall. This is a heavyweight event. Probally the biggest for modified MBs ever. I will be checking here right after the event. Please update Dragtimes.com with your timeslips to carve your acheivements in stone!

As of now there is only one MB under 10 secs (SGC's Renntech SLR) on dragtimes. Hope to see at least 5 more after this event.

I would love to attend just as a spectator! I doubt either of my cars will be ready to run at this event. I am envious but excited for everybody!
