Would anyone be interested in a pro efi engine management system for the 55? I am talking about a system similar to the system they run on their BMW? I am sick of this flash stuff. It works good but it really is a huge limitation to going above 575 whp and using injectors larger than 550s.

For those of you who don't know, pro efi is the engine management used by ams to power their gtr and has can bus capabilities. They also use it at underground racing to manage the twin turbo lambos and vipers. They are capable of making a wiring harness for our car to makes this a plug n play model.

I'm just starting my upgrade path but certainly interested to know where things may lead when I hit the limits of current mods...

What are the turbo guys going to use for management? A custom flash? Is it expensive?

2003 porsche 996 turbo
my buddy just installed a syvecs unit in his turbo porsche 800 rwhp fully built car. the system is so complex it took flying a tuner in from tpc for 3 days to set the baseline tune on pump fuel. he now is taking the car to west palm beach for a week of tuning on e85 at a cost of 10,000$. may want to rethink standalone ecu unless you have a major grasp of what you are getting to

these pro efi, motec syvecs are in no way shape or form plug and play. getting the standalone to plug into a oem harness is just the beginning. tuning the ecu and the unit takes a specialized knowledge

There are tons of people who tune a pro efi daily. This car is no different than any other car and certainly no more complex than a gtr per say. Right now, this platform is being held back by two things as I see it. First, the lack of serious performance enthusiasts. Most if you guys are happy with bolt on modifications and that is of course perfectly fine. Second the engine management. Beyond basic bolt on performance there is not much out there that will coexist with the current method of tuning these cars. We simply have to wait for endless amounts of time to pass for someone to garner enough data to release another bolt on part while the rest of the world blows our doors off.

I'm in as well just to be sticker shocked. My guess is I can buy a pretty nice standalone nitrous setup and have ALOT of money in my pocket leftover before purchasing this but I won't throw in the towel yet. Aren't the supra kits over $2k? That would mean that this would be at least double considering its "custom" and Mercedes tax.

You kinda pissed people off with your intro, but you are hitting the mail on the head right now.

I really can't say anything about the build of my car until its done. But, you are correct! We need more!

Jerry is supposed to flash my car when we are done with he build. I was hoping Paul's car would be done by now so tha I knew there was a baseline tune already. I guess we will all know soon. Both of us will be complete soon. Only time will tell.
