fuel sender recall info/carfax
Hello all. I have a silver 2004 e55 and I recently pulled the Carfax on it. It seems to have every service record the car has ever had in it. It does not however show that the fuel sender units have been replaced on this car for the recall. I was wondering if anyone know if the car fax could be used at the dealer to show they haven't done the recall yet? I dont have this problem yet I was just planning for the future because this is a common issue with these cars? If anyone knows I appreciate. Thanks

Replacing the fuel senders was never part of the original recall.
The "recall" added a 2-cent metal sleeve to the fuel fitting to make it stronger and less likely to crack...
The real issue with the fuel senders is far more serious and involved, so I wouldn't get too excited about the MBUSA recall preventing any fuel smell issues in your car.

it will show on the VMI if the fuel sender seals were done. If it doesn't lean and it doesn't smell like fuel in the car i wouldn't touch it.
my car shows that the recall has not be completed and is outstanding but i don't have any issues(knock on wood) ... needless to say, i wont be making any "repairs" at this time.

ok i was curious because my car has 93,000 miles and i wanted to know if i should do it before it does me. i checked the car fax again and it shows no replacement for that.
i was also wondering if anyone knew of any places for a good warranty
