In Washington state (and probably other states as well), the law states that the plate can not be obstructed/covered even by clear plastics or glass. So even if its "clearly visible," that doesn't mean you're not making yourself an more likely to be ticketed even if your plate is covered from cameras. Not worth it imo :x
