Help with square wheel/tire setup

I'm looking to purchase some new wheels and tires that offer additional traction up front for auto-x and that I can rotate.

What I would like is something similar to what a few of you are running.

18 x 9.5 all around with a 35-45 offset

My goal isn't to have an aggressive look, but as wide of a wheel with as big of a tire as possible without major modification.

I'm happy with running the 265 rear, from my measurements it seems like i can get away with it. Has anyone ran larger? What setup?

Thanks in advance!

It's been proven by scientists that round wheels-tires have better traction and last longer than square ones.

I disagree. I'm running some pine blocks on my s2k with success. I just don't have the money for a quality carpenter for a second car.

E55
Have E55 w/ 18x9.5 ET 35 all around with 275/35/18 fronts and 285/35/18 rears. Stock ride height. This is the widest front tires possible without rubbing the inner suspension upright or, at steering lock, the inner bumper liner.
