sheared off subframe bolt

w211 sheared rear subframe mounting bolts
Hello everyone, I am new in here and have this same issue. I wonder why the cars were not recalled to have the bolts replaced (which is poorly designed - having thread down the entire length instead of a shank).
Whilst driving a few weeks ago my w211 rear subframe mounting bolts sheared (both of them). the car is an 04 making it 12 years old. The garage I sent it to says I should contact MB to see if there is any assistance with the repair as it is obviously a design fault.
Can anyone tell me if I stand a chance of getting any help?
Also, how much can I expect to pay to get this sorted as the bolts need drilling out.

If someone has done the repair before it will take them 3 hrs to fix for both sides.

Don't cut the ****ing frame happens all the time at our shop get some good drill bits kle-line or better and a drill and drill it out then tap the hole. If any of my techs ever cut a frame and added a nut and bolt they would be fired on the spot! Your causing frame damage and structural integrity by doing so
everyone does it and its a better result than the original factory.
Have you had to do this repair on an w211?

He hasn't done this before and as the bolts have sheared off flush in their mounting, they will have to be drilled out

Here's a DIY thread I made a while back when I decided to put in stronger bolts *before* there was a problem. I've got over 100 dragstrip passes on the car running Hoosier drag radials and have not had any problems.
