Acceleration issue...looks like car is starving for air or fuel
My car started to experience some acceleration issues yesterday. It starts fine, idles fine, revs up great only in P and N. Once I put the car on D and start driving it it wont go past 2k-2.5k rpms. It shakes, sputters, coughs and it looks looks like it is starving for air or fuel. If i accelerate very very slowly and gently then it is fine, but as soon as i tap the gas pedal and it goes to like 2k rpm and the problem starts. I do not feel any supercharger engagement. THERE IS NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT present. I already changed my fuel filters, did throttle body adaptation and filled the car with Shell V-Power gas. Fuel pumps are 3 years old. No fuel smell or leaks whatsoever. The car was fine in the morning and suddenly something went wrong in the afternoon while parked. The only thing I can think of would be low fuel pressure in the system. I searched online but could not find the same symptomps anywhere.
Any help will be greatly appreciated. Don't want to buy new fuel pumps before I'm 100% sure.
Thanks a lot!

Also, check the electrical harness connecting to the fuel pump cap (passenger side), then check the terminals connecting the fuel pump cap to the actual fuel pump in the fuel tank. Make sure the contacts are clean (no mildew) and terminals are tightly snug. Remember, best to do this with an empty/low tank.
