Tight always works for me. Blue lock tight is useful. Only time a torque wrench was in my hand was to rebuild an engine.

lol yeah i usually just go with "tight" but since they are moving supension parts i figured i bust out my torque wrench and do it to spec so it doesnt come undone at 100+ mph :P

LOl if it comes loose then obviously you did not have it tight even at 120+ mph. If you go the torque wrench method just remember the torgue spec is usually done with a fresh, clean thread on the bolt and the nut threads should be chased with the proper size tap with the appropriate lubricant applied before tightening. When was the last time your torque wrench was calibrated?

over torquing can cause a fasterner to come loose/fail just the same as under torquing

anybody have the real specs? i can figure out the "putting it on tight" method myself

Here are torque specs:
3 nuts up top - 30Nm
Airline - 2Nm (I just hand tightened)
1 nut/bolt down below 165Nm

I think that's it

yep this is the 4th airmatic to go out on me (1 at a time lol) so at least now i will have replaced all of them and all the replacements are warrantied...

at least finally this time it went out when i wasnt 500 miles from home so i can replace it myself... the other 3 all went out on 3 separate road trips, leaving me at the hands of the stealership :/

i am actually probably gonna take some pics and put a sale feeler out soon and either go to the new audi s4, 996-997 porsche 911 TT world or cadillac cts-v as many others have (though i sill want the AWD e63 amg)
