Power Steering Issue
A few months ago I noticed a strange rattling noise from the engine compartment which I narrowed down to the power steering pump. I could actually see the pulley wobbling so I bought a re-manufactured pump to replace it with. Prior to replacing the pump, aside from the terrible noise, it worked fine and the wheel turned with ease. After replacing the pump the steering has gotten much stiffer when stopped when previously it used to turn real easy. It also whine loud on startyup then goes away, but will start to slowly come back but not nearly as loud.
I am unsure if I got a bum pump or maybe i'm using the wrong fluid? Maybe I should have totally flushed the system? I refilled it with the Pentosin CHF 11s but the old fluid didn't look like it. It was a honey brown kind of fluid.
Looking for any suggestions here if possible. Thanks!

check the screen on your PS pump resrvoir. they've been known to disintegrate and cause junk to mix with the ps fluid. you will have to replace the entire resrvoir as the screen is not available separately as far as i remember.

did you do the full lock from left to right, right to left several times?? I had my p/s reservoir replaced and in the process had to do this and would see the fluid level go down and had to pour more Pentosin until it was at the correct level.

I did try that. I went lock to lock about 10 times. Should I try to do it more maybe? Thanks for any insight!
