If you still have the old plugs from before the Bosch, gap them and use them, they will surely fire her up once again. Be prepared for some crazy smoke out the exhaust, I would hold the RPM's at about 1200 for a couple of minutes(5) minimum to get some heat into the chambers.

2 choices, pick out the rest from the bosch or purchase some cheap plugs as recommended. If using the Bosch take a wire brush and give them a little clean up especially near the tip. For sure though take it easy until you get fresh plugs installed. Normal driving, some highway will help, at least 30minutes to an hour to get whole driveline warmed up.

Do you guys think this (bad gas and dirty plugs) could cause the random and cyl6 misfire?

I would use only one Bosch in any one cylinder, not two Bosch in one cylinder, okay. Talking about the 10 mile plugs.

This place is a joke.
S ome carb/throttle body cleaner and a wire brush should work to clean those plugs, enough to get it running

With the cyl6 you could have had a scenario whereas only one plug is firing, the other fouled, with bad gas and unknown injector function the misfire is possible and expected, weak coil when warm (original coils) something to look at in the future.

After thought, are these new 10 mile plugs a colder heat range than stock?

The plugs are stock heat range. One of the coil packs is new, I thought it was causing the miss before, so I replaced it to no avail. Tank is finally empty, after removing about 6 1/2 gallons. Fresh gas and cleaned up plugs installed tomorrow and hopefully it runs good again!

Figured I would make it a late night and stay up late working on getting this fixed.. Just put 5 1/2 fresh gallons of 93. Registered one bar above a quarter. Got the plugs all cleaned up with some cleaner and a wire brush. Will install them tomorrow and give it shot... Hoping for the best but expecting the worst is what I have learned to expect with this car... Here's the plugs after a quick cleaning:

And here is some of the fresh gas that was just put in.. Looks a whole lot better...

Compared to this crap..:

Did you empty the gas tank completely? Then put in all fresh gas?

This thread reminds of the old lawnmower nightmare. People leaving gas in the lawnmower through the winter months, then Spring rolls around and they try to start it. Nothing. You have to empty the tank or run the mower until all the gas is gone before storing for the winter or at the very least, throw some product in there that will preserve the fuel quality.

I didn't read the thread, but did you store your car or not drive it for a long period of time?

Hope things are resolved soon.

Got the plugs and everything back in, and bled the fuel to get it fresh at the rail and here is then end result.

:p

Man I haven't been this happy to hear it run in a long time, if ever! Thank you Everyone for helping me get this seemingly menacing issue fixed!!! Now time to get the bumper back on and get some gas and have a highway cruise... I don't know what I would do without you guys!

Congratulations, job well done. You might want to do an oil change after a some mileage is put on just in case the unburnt gas was getting past the rings and into the oil pan. Fresh plugs too when they arrive. If you have the car sit for long periods maybe try some STA-BIL fuel stabilizer or equivalent.
Again hearing it run made me smile also .

I already changed to oil... Lol I didn't want to chance it in case the cylinders were washed with fuel. Sending it off to blackstone, but I know they will say the oil is garbage. I just like to be sure.

2001 CLK 430
Hey there everyone
I'm new to this forum, and I would appreciate some good advice from you experts
I have a 2001 clk 430 V8, my key was stolen, I called the dealership, went there in person with my paperwork, they ordered one but its not working.
Here is what I did: insert the new key fob in the ignition, waiting for nothing.
The light on the remote did not eliminate, no click or zip usual sound, I waited for up to an hour for it to recognize they key with no results. I also went ahead and replaced my battery, just in case it was a low voltage thing, my windows rolled down and still are. As much as I hate it "out of respect for Benz" I had to place trash bags over the windows since its raining. Now is there anything I can do, or did not do at this point?
My last chance is to tow the car, the closest dealership is 100 miles away.
Please let me know what I need to do! Thanks a lot!

This is the place to get help, but you need to post this in the W208 forum, found here: https://mbworld.org/forums/clk-class-w208-5/

Bought a spare key from dealer a few years ago, when the new key was placed into the ignition the car started then some verbage came on the dash saying something like (recognition blah blah) no issue after that. Windows should work when the car starts. If still not working contact the dealer by phone for further assistance. Car should start without the battery in the fob, but make sure the battery is still n correctly. Call Dealer!

Nice troubleshooting and not giving up!!! Now dont let it sit for more than a couple weeks! Similar happen to my buddy and his clk. .Got crap gas at a small town off the highway in North carolina. Car wouldnt go over 65mph and if did christmas tree of codes on his dash. He had recently done injectors, coils, plugs, wires. Drained his gas and put some BG44k and drove it hard for 15 min and cleared his problems.
