Belt wrap kit problem

After installing the popular kit seen all over I shredded the belt from heating up my tires,it seems when you let off the belt gets slack and must get jammed up that's the only thing I can think of,I made multiple runs with no problems only when I was hitting it hard and letting off i would hear it screech as did the stock belt, but the belt surfaces are so close with this kit I guess they touch,I know just don't do that. A duh ,maybe I try a smaller belt so it doesn't get that slack. Just figured I'd share

This place is a joke.
Hmm no problems here, multiple 1/4 runs and burnouts. I think you're on the right track...maybe wrong size belt.

What size lower/upper combo are you running? I'm sure Shardul would know the proper size. My belt wrap kit hasn't had any issues so far. Great mod IMO.

I've also been running mine for about 4 months with zero issues. Possibly your tensioner is weak...

Almost 2 months with my belt wrap kit and no issues.

Awesome mod. I had some slippage while stock (albeit very, very little) before installing the BWK. I added the upper pulley and the BWK and the car feels and builds boost smoothly and efficiently.

IMHO, one of the most necessary upgrades on the 55K motors - actually, great mod for any mechanically driven supercharged car.

I had a problem like this and found out one of my pulleys was on backwards. It was allowing the two pulleys to touch and only cause an issue coming off high rpms and decelerating.

Cntrline has 168 lower 84 upper pulley with kleeman cams and headers. Don't know if you need the kleeman stuff but just in case. He is working I am sure so I figured I would speed up the process of possibly getting answers for him!

For that set up, if the pulley is measured from the the belt running surface, not the outside pulley lip/ edge, then he should be using a Gates K080537. All performance idler`s should have the snap ring faceing away from the engine for proper install. Also, the factory Supercharger idler pulley spring tensioner can also become weak, cause belt tension loss and this will show up under heavy gas pedal loads first.

To long of a belt will also cause a loss of OEM SC idler spring tension .

.....Workin on computer about 6 hours a day so I can go back and forth. I work at my own leisure! I deal in old collectible cars and in late Sept. to late Oct. I buy buy buy...bought 17 old rides and had 5 so I am stocked! Now I delegate the work they need and list others online...go show one or two, look for parts, go see more cars to buy in between etc. Don't know if you noticed but in that time frame I had little races and was on here very little. Going to deliver one in 10 minutes. So, lots of computer work and I go from like 8am till 8pm so plenty of time to go back and forth to forums.

I bought 2 junk boxes today! lol 1964 and a 1965 Porsche 356sc and a 356c. Complete resto projects...I mean junk but rare cars! Most stuff I buy are really nice but these make money!

Here is an example of one of the nice ones! http://longisland.craigslist.org/cto/4159858421.html

Shardul: I guess you spoke to Kevin...cool.
