Engine wiring harness

Was told at the dealership; (due to a check engine light being on) that some mice or other vermin had chewed the engine wiring harness. As a new wiring harness is very difficult to get and on back order, they are going to fix the harness. Can this be done? Total for a new harness and installation $2800 and about a $1000 less with the old one being fixed. Thoughts on a path forward?
Thanks for the assistance.

**** THAT ****. Seriously fix a wiring harness on a MBZ. I'm sure it can be done but are they going to cover anything that goes wrong later down the road? One reason I hate stealerships. Get that crap in writing, their fix should be as good as a new one with the same warranty coverage.

Wiring harness repair is something that can be done. I have repaired many of them. There would have to be some very extensive damage for it to cost $1800 though.

repairing a harness just means taking its plastic covering off where it’s been chewed and re-connecting the broken wires. There are tons of videos on YouTube on how best to connect wires. $2800 is a ripoff for this job.

$2,800 is a lot for this work. Find out from them where exactly the repair is needed and if possible find some YouTube videos and save yourself a lot of money.

As we all know Stealerships are ripoffs.

This place is a joke.
I'm sure the car was fixed 7 years ago when this thread was created. 🙄
