Slight Vibratioin at idle in gear

Ok, so this is on my GF's ML550... I posted here because there isn't much traffic in the ML forum...

At idle which is about 550 rpms, there is a noticable vibration, especially on the steering wheel. If you give it about 150 more rpms, everything is smooth. In Park or driving it, everything is fine.

I don't think there is an idle adjustment anywhere is there?

I would check motor mounts That's about the only thing I can think of, and a common wear part.

Definitely check the mounts.. Is it always there or does it come and go?? I had a similar situation on my car, had the mounts replaced twice and was still there... Mine wouls come and go however.. Dealer could not figure it out, ACG finally did, it was 2 misfiring injectors... So if it's always there, probably mounts, if it comes and goes it's most likley a misfire on either the spark side or fuel side.. Good luck...

This. Evidently they're a 60K mile wear part.

Our GL also vibrated at idle some and it seemed to be in the idle control, as it was not there all the time either. Also watch out for the 1st gear tranny surges, as the trans control plate inside can go bad as well.

It's a 2010 with 46k miles. The vibration is always there. If you just give it a tad bit of gas to get the rpms up another 150 rpms, it goes away...

I was gonna say motor mounts, but sounds more like tranny mounts after reading your descriptions a few times.

My car's motor and tranny mounts needed replacing @38K miles. If you guys can get 60K+ miles out of them, DAMN!

How does she drive the car? That has a lot to do with it, too.
