cheap tires
curious if any of you run the cheaper brands of tires on these cars. I cant see spending lots of money for something that sits anyway. I like the general gmax ,or nittto 555's so many off brands sumoto or somthing like that has matched sizes just need rears for now.

As I plan on upgrading wheels soon I slapped on a set of Nangkang noble ns-20 and they are performing surprisingly well for a tire that ran me around $420 for a set.

Kind of silly to get "cheap" tires as you really don't save a lot of money....what maybe ~$100 / tire ?? Hankook and Kuhmo are as "cheap" as I would recommend...

My SECOND set of Michelin Pilot SuperSports were cheap. Why second set? I got the first set put on earlier this year. Not cheap and was around $1200 after mounting/balancing/tax, etc. They also came with a 30,000 mile tread life guarantee.
Last week, I got a new set of rear PSS tires, mounted and balanced for $250 as I was at the wear bars at 8,000 miles. It's like the harder I drive, the cheaper my next set of tires is, lol. Works for me because I really like the tire. The fronts still look new and I doubt I will get much of a discount due to the warranty on them.

I wouldn't do it. On my rears, I normally get about 10k miles on Nitto Invos on my CLS55.
I spent $300 for a set of Nankang tires just to see. After 1500 miles, they were scrapped and I installed some Conti DW extremes.
They had zero traction, would not hold a balance, high speed stability was awful and had an annoying humming on the highway.
Like the other guy said, for 100-150 more per pair, you can get a substantially better tire.

By nicer tire, it'll last longer and perform better and probably SAVE money in the long run

I have a set of Falken ZX 912s if you want them: 265/35/18 - $ 200 + shipping...70% tread. I am about to throw them on the classifieds.

Thanks to the fact mine is lowered with STAR and I don't have the KMAC kit on the rear, my NItto Invos have 7,000 miles on them and the inner half of each tire looks like a Hoosier, while the outsides look just great. I hate the camber issue
Buying new tires next week.
