DIY intake manifold gasket replacement

Is there a link to a DIY link for intake manifold gasket replacement? I was getting codes P0171 and P0174. Took it to stealer and they told me I needed a new intake manifold and quoted me a almost $3500 bill. How does an intake go bad with only 58K miles. It just sits there. Didn't sound real to me so I decided to go the cheapest route first. I prefer to do my own work anyway so I don't have a problem getting in there and doing it. Just need a little help. 07 E63 AMG Thanks

That can be a vacuum leak or bad 02 sensors as well. You need to hook up STAR somehow and dig deeper than going by the generic code readings.

Bump

Bumping this thread because I'm throwing the following codes:

P2187 System Too Lean at Idle Bank 1
P2189 System Too Lean at Idle Bank 2
P0171 System Too Lean Bank 1
P0174 System Too Lean Bank 2

If anyone knows of a DIY to remove and replace, specifically, my W211 E63 intake manifold, I'd like to take a look at it.

Thanks in advance-

Well you can always get the knock off Mercedes WIS on eBay for around $10-$15. It's the complete shop manual that the dealers use. You can also pay $60 a day for the official one from MB and download as much as you can in 24 hours at:
